i’m ashamed i didn’t do enough still life studies this year :/
this took about 3.5 hours. i’m giving up on it now because it’s late and i need to get to bed! painted it while watching the colbert report, the daily show, a national geographic documentary on meth and half a bbc documentary on the history of scotland ._.
long overdue drapery study, this took about 1.5 hours, it could have been more detailed and i probably should have rendered the black cloth it was sitting on in the background, but i have other overdue stuff i need to work on :(
teapot of fail, painted from life, 3+ hours. first still life study this year, it’s long overdue.
placed a white teapot on black cloth and painted this in my very dim room. i wanted to start with something simple first. the drapery is all wrong and i was making it up after a while, the colours aren’t too accurate either. the surface of the teapot is kinda dull from frequent use and the diffused lighting created shadows that were a little too subtle for me to capture. i ended up exaggerating the dark tones more ><
i hope i can stop being lazy and set up some more objects for still life/material studies in the future -_-
here’s some stuff from last month that i forgot to upload. and, yes, the glass study is pretty phail.
just finished refining this one. it’s just a 1-2 week assignment so i don’t really want to spend excessive amounts of time on this. i have absolutely no idea how to draw in the line left by the ornament’s mould so i’m just going to leave it as it is D:
i guess i’ll consider this done. i spent a lot of time trying to fix this and i honestly think this is as good as it will get. i’ve reached the saturation point; this is as far as i can go given my current skillset :/
